Gift Bow Brooch Tutorial

Sometimes you just need to get a little extra festive during the holiday season. Here's a simple tutorial on how to make a gift bow brooch from fabric. This bow is so cute and would be the perfect accessory for a holiday outfit, or ever on top of a gift.
 1. Supplies: Fabric (I used a lightweight costume fabric, but would recommend something with a little more weight), Pinking shears, pen or pencil, ruler, fabric stiffener  craft glue, flat back pin. 2. Cut your fabric out lengthwise into nine 3/4-inch wide strips with the following heights: Three at 11 inches; three at 10 inches, two at 9 inches; and one at 3 1/2 inches. Lay them down flat and spray with your fabric stiffener. 3. Once they are dry, twist the end of each strip to form a loop. Glue down after you twist each end. 4. They should all look like little infinity signs, except for the smallest piece, which you will glue in a circle.
5. Layer and glue in different directions starting with the bigger pieces. 6. Continue to layer and glue all pieces except for the smallest. 7. Glue the small round piece in the middle. 8. Glue your flat back pin onto the back. Optional: Spray with more fabric stiffener if desired. I used a bunch because my fabric was so flimsy, but you may not need to.
You can also alter the size of the bow by cutting at different lengths/widths. And if you aren't so daring as to wear a gift bow around, you can always use it on a present that needs a little sprucing up. Just remember to be creative and have fun with it!
