I have been reading a lot about the benefits of pumpkin lately. It's choc full of antioxidant vitamins, such as vitamin A and vitamin E, is terrific for the digestive tracts of cats and dogs, and tastes just lovely! I have also recently heard it is a great skin moisturizer, and thought it would be the perfect ingredient for a fall face mask. To make this pumpkin pie face mask, I combined pureed pumpkin with some other natural ingredients which can also be very healthy for your skin. Like sugar, which is a great exfoliant, and nutmeg, which can be used as an anti-fungal and ant-inflammatory.
-2 Tbsp. pumpkin puree
-1/2 tsp. plain yogurt
-1/4 tsp. plain milk
-1/4 tsp. brown sugar
-Pinch of nutmeg
Combine all ingredients in a bowl. Apply to your face in a circular motion, avoiding the eye area. Leave on for 10 - 15 minutes. Rinse off with warm water, pat face dry, and apply moisturizer.
This face mask gave my skin a nice fresh finish , and left it feeling moisturized without being greasy. It's perfect for recovering dry skin from the cold fall weather, and smells positively delicious!
